The 2027 CAF TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations will be played in three different countries. Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya will host the 2027 AFCON, marking the first time the competition has been held in three different countries.
The official draw for the qualifying rounds will take place on Friday, December 19, 2025, in Rabat, Morocco, starting at 6:00 PM GMT.
There will be 13 groups of 3 to 4 nations each. The 13 group winners and the three best runners-up will qualify directly for the final tournament, joining the three host countries: Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
The remaining best runners-up will compete in a two-legged playoff round to determine the final qualifying teams. The first and second days of the qualifiers are scheduled for March 2026.
