AFCON 2025 – Tom Saintfiet reveals his favorites

From December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, Morocco will be buzzing with African football excitement during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). When asked who will be the winning country, Tom Saintfiet revealed his favorites.

The 35th edition of Africa's premier football competition will be held in Morocco. For Saintfiet, the North African countries are the clear favorites, especially the host nation:

"Yes, 100% of the North African countries have the advantage. We also saw this at the World Cup in Qatar, where the Arab countries performed best. For me, Morocco is the clear favorite, but Algeria, Tunisia, and Egypt also have the ability to win this title," he stated in an interview with Masrawy.

According to the coach of the Malian team, Senegal and Nigeria are also among the strongest teams.
