AFCON 2025: NFF Confirms Super Eagles’ Move to Marrakesh
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that the Super Eagles will depart Fez for Marrakesh on Thursday as they step up preparations for their quarter-final showdown at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
In an official statement released on Wednesday, the federation disclosed that “The three-time champions will on Thursday move to the city of Marrakech, where they will play the winner between Algeria’s Fennecs and DR Congo’s Leopards in Saturday’s quarter-final duel scheduled to kick off at 5pm.”
The update comes after the Super Eagles wrapped up a training session on Tuesday evening at the Sardienne Complex in Fez. According to the NFF, all 26 available players were present and participated fully in the session, signaling a high level of readiness within the squad.
However, the federation also confirmed that defender Ryan Alebiosu remains unavailable as he continues his recovery from injury and is yet to rejoin full training.
