AFCON 2025: Ivory Coast Cruise Past Burkina Faso to Set Up Quarter-Final Clash With Egypt
Ivory Coast sealed a 3–0 win over Burkina Faso in their AFCON 2025 Round of 16 match on Tuesday at the Grand Stadium of Marrakech to secure a place in the quarter-finals.
Goals from Amad Diallo (20th minute) and Yan Diomande (32nd minute) put the Elephants firmly in control before Bazoumana Touré wrapped up the victory late on in the 87th minute.
The reigning champions will now face seven-time winners Egypt in a heavyweight quarter-final showdown in Agadir on Saturday, with a place in the semi-finals at stake.
