AFCON 2025: Chelle’s Pay Cleared, Super Eagles Bonuses Pending Nigeria Football Federation

Nigeria’s AFCON 2025 camp remains financially stable, with Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle fully paid as attention shifts to the knockout stage.

Reports from Morocco say the NFF has cleared all salary arrears, including Chelle’s January 2026 pay, easing fears of off-field distractions. A source in camp said the coach is in a “good state of mind financially” and focused on pushing Nigeria further.

Chelle led Nigeria to three group wins, capped by a 3-1 victory over Uganda, and now prepares for Monday’s Round of 16 clash with Mozambique. He reportedly earned $60,000 in match bonuses, receives $400 daily allowance, and is on a $55,000 monthly salary. Government support has also seen ₦3 billion released for the campaign.

However, players are yet to receive bonuses, including a negotiated $30,000 each for reaching the last 16, as talks continue. Nigeria remain favourites.
