Reports emerging from Italy suggest that Atalanta are poised to delay Ademola Lookman’s release for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serie A club intends to keep the Nigerian forward until after their match against Cagliari on December 13, meaning he will join the national team camp later than initially planned.
Lookman was included in Nigeria’s 55-man preliminary squad announced on Tuesday by head coach Eric Chelle.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to open their AFCON 2025 camp in Cairo, Egypt, on December 10, with all players expected to arrive by December 11.
