AFCON 2025: Alex Iwobi Confident Super Eagles Can Win the Title in Morocco

Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has expressed strong belief that Nigeria has what it takes to lift the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title in Morocco.

The Fulham player shared his optimism ahead of the tournament, which is scheduled to run from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026. According to Iwobi, the team is hungry to improve on their last outing and is determined to make a stronger push for the title.

Speaking with AySuga Channel, Iwobi reflected on Nigeria’s near success in the previous edition and stressed that the goal this time is simple—win the trophy.

“We were really close last AFCON, but the only way we can improve on the last AFCON is to win it,” he said. “We have the players to do it, we believe we can, we just have to prove it.”

Nigeria finished as runners-up in the last AFCON after falling 2–1 to the Ivory Coast in a tightly contested final.
