In Matchday 37 of the English Premier League, AFC Bournemouth hosted Manchester City and produced a result that rewrote the club’s history.

Details: Bournemouth secured a 1:1 draw against Manchester City and officially guaranteed themselves a place in European competition next season. The Cherries now have 56 points after 37 matches and hold a four-point advantage over the team in ninth place with only one round remaining.

It marks the first time in the club’s history that Bournemouth have qualified for European competition.

The most dramatic twist of all in Matchday 37, however, came in the title race. Arsenal’s main challengers for the crown, Manchester City, were held to a draw away at Bournemouth. That result mathematically ended Pep Guardiola’s side’s hopes of catching Arsenal and confirmed the title for Mikel Arteta’s men.
