Lookman Makes Instant Impact Off the Bench
Ademola Lookman made a strong impact off the bench as Atlético Madrid defeated Club Brugge 4–1 in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League play-off, sealing a 7–4 aggregate victory to book their place in the Round of 16.
Head coach Diego Simeone introduced Lookman in the 70th minute, and the Nigerian winger wasted little time making his presence felt. Six minutes after coming on, he set up Alexander Sørloth for Atlético’s third goal of the night.
Sørloth went on to complete a clinical hat-trick, while Johnny Cardoso added another to wrap up an emphatic win for the Spanish side. Lookman has now recorded four goals and three assists in seven appearances across all competitions for Atlético Madrid this season.
