Ademola Lookman is the best player of 2024 according to CAF

Ademola Lookman was able to receive the African Player of the Year award for 2024, surpassing many other stars who represent the most prominent European and African clubs as well.

The Super Eagles star did not win this award in vain, but managed to achieve the European league title after scoring the famous hat-trick against Leverkusen to give Atalanta that title and be the first European title for the Italian team and written by the Nigerian star.

The Nigerian striker outperformed four other candidates, namely the Moroccan Achraf Hakimi, the French right-back of Paris Saint-Germain, the Guinean Sehrou Guirassy, the German Borussia Dortmund striker, the Ivorian Simon Adingra, the English Brighton player, and the South African Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams.

Nigeria retained the African Player of the Year award for the second year in a row, as Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, loaned this season to Turkish club Galatasaray, won the Golden Ball award for the best African player in 2023.
