Adam Bareiro Shines in Qatar as Al Rayyan Considers Permanent Move

Adam Bareiro is enjoying his best spell since arriving in Qatar, and his recent performance could have major implications for River Plate. On loan at Al Rayyan since January, the Paraguayan striker scored twice in a 3-0 win over Al Ahli in the Emir Cup semifinal, leading his team into the final and putting himself in the spotlight.
According to journalist La Página Millonaria, Al Rayyan is seriously considering triggering the $3 million purchase option on Bareiro’s loan deal, which expires in June. For River, who couldn’t fully integrate the forward under Marcelo Gallardo, it would mean both financial relief and a valuable summer transfer boost.
Bareiro’s goals came in quick succession: the first, a sharp left-footed strike from inside the box; the second, a clinical finish following a deflection near the goal line. These added to his earlier goal in the quarterfinals, reinforcing his growing influence in the squad.
Should the Qatari club finalize the deal, River would offload a non-essential player while pocketing a solid return. As Bareiro continues to perform, his fate — and River’s summer finances — may soon be sealed.
