The Belgian assist maestro could continue his career in the North American league as early as the upcoming winter transfer window.

Details: American club San Diego have revived concrete talks over signing 35-year-old Napoli midfielder Kevin De Bruyne during the January transfer window. This was reported by renowned football insider Nicolo Schira.

Napoli have decided against activating the option to automatically extend the midfielder's contract for one additional season, meaning his current deal will expire in the summer of 2027. Against this backdrop, the Italian giants are prepared to meet interested parties halfway in January in order to reduce their wage bill.

Representatives of the Belgian star have scheduled an in-person round of talks with San Diego's senior leadership during the November international break to discuss the financial terms of the contract and the veteran's long-term role in the MLS club's new project.

It is worth noting that Kevin De Bruyne moved to Serie A after a glorious spell at Manchester City, where he won the UEFA Champions League and became an English champion six times, cementing his reputation as one of the greatest assist providers in the history of European football.

Reminder: Scott McTominay could join a top Spanish club !
