Achraf Hakimi Equals Samuel Eto’o’s Historic Champions League Record With PSG
Achraf Hakimi has etched his name further into African football history after matching a remarkable UEFA Champions League achievement previously held exclusively by Samuel Eto'o.
The Moroccan defender reached the milestone on Saturday as Paris Saint-Germain were crowned European champions following their victory over Arsenal in Budapest.
By lifting the trophy with PSG, Hakimi secured the third Champions League title of his career, drawing level with Eto’o as one of the most successful African players in the history of the competition.
Eto’o won his three Champions League crowns during a glittering career that saw him lift the trophy twice with FC Barcelona in 2006 and 2009 before adding a third title with Inter Milan in 2010.
