Achille Fokem Namekong leaves Elite One to join Stade Malien

The Cameroonian striker has signed for the Malian club for the next two seasons.

Stade Malien of Bamako have bolstered their squad with a new attacking signing. The Malian club has officially announced the arrival of Cameroonian striker Achille Fokem Namekong, who is leaving Elite One to continue his career in Mali.

Coming from Unisport Bafang, a club in the Cameroonian professional league, Achille Fokem Namekong has signed for Stade Malien on a two-season contract. The Cameroonian striker will now experience a new environment and a new league whilst playing for the Bamako-based club.

Last season, Achille Fokem Namekong scored 8 goals for Unisport Bafang in Cameroon’s Elite One. Stade Malien can therefore count on the Cameroonian striker’s attacking qualities.

Stade Malien will be competing in the 2026–2027 CAF Champions League. The club from the Malian capital will face Colombe Sportive of Cameroon in the first qualifying round, with the first leg to be played on 6 September in Yaoundé at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Multi-sports Stadium.
