In Serie A's Matchweek 18, AC Milan hosted Roma at the San Siro. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, marking the final match for Paulo Fonseca as head coach of the Rossoneri.
Details: According to insider Fabrizio Romano, Milan’s management decided to part ways with the Portuguese coach. Furthermore, it was immediately announced that former Porto boss Sergio Conceição would be the new head coach.
Interestingly, Conceição reportedly turned down three offers from European and South American clubs in the past three weeks, knowing Milan was seriously considering him. Contract details are currently unknown, but it is expected to run until the summer of 2026.
Currently, AC Milan sits in eighth place in the Serie A standings, with 27 points after 17 matches. The Rossoneri are five points behind the European qualification zone and eight points off a Champions League spot.
Reminder: Milan fans protested against the club's management during the home Serie A match against Roma. The tifosi on the "Curva Sud" directed most of their chants against owner Gerry Cardinale and the club’s board.
