Absurd situation. Depay may go unpaid at Corinthians

Less than a month after Dutch player Memphis Depay joined Brazilian club Corinthians, he might already be on his way out due to a potential salary issue.
Details: According to Uol, most of Depay's salary was supposed to come from a club sponsor — a betting company. However, Brazilian authorities recently denied the gambling company a state license, meaning that funding for Corinthians, including Depay's contract, is now uncertain and could face major hurdles.
Reminder: Depay signed a contract with Corinthians in early September, set to run through the end of 2026. Under this agreement, the 30-year-old forward would receive a salary of around $12 million per year. So far, Depay has made four appearances for the South American giants, recording two assists but has yet to score a goal.
