Absolutely brilliant Uche stuns Selhurst Park with magic strike
Christantus Uche lit up Selhurst Park with a stunning goal that left English football experts in awe, even as Crystal Palace were held to a 2-2 draw by KuPS in the Europa Conference League.
Handed his first home start in a rotated Palace side, the Nigeria international opened the scoring inside five minutes. Uche collected the ball on the edge of the area, shifted it onto his left and fired an outside-of-the-boot finish beyond Walter Benitez and into the top corner, marking Palace’s fastest start in the competition this season.
The strike, his second in successive Conference League matches, drew glowing praise from TNT Sports pundits. Joel Ward said, “It was some finish… a wonderful guided finish into the corner from Uche… it’s like he just hit that finesse button.” Lucy Ward added, “That was absolutely brilliant… outside of the right foot… Amazing.”
Palace later lost control for spells, allowing KuPS back into the game. Uche stayed influential but the hosts settled for a draw.
Oliver Glasner said, “Of course, fantastic goal from Uche… we lost a little bit of structure.”
