Abdoulaye Fall remains president of the Senegalese Football Federation: the CAS has handed down its ruling on Mady Touré’s appeal
The electoral dispute between Mady Touré and the current president of Senegalese football’s governing body is, however, far from over.
Mady Touré had contested the election of Abdoulaye Fall as president of the Senegalese Football Federation for a four-year term. He alleged several irregularities in the electoral process.
However, the Senegalese Football Federation’s Appeals Committee had rejected his appeal on 25 August 2025. Mady Touré subsequently brought the case before the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
However, in its ruling handed down on Friday 21 August, the CAS found that this rejection was legally unfounded and contrary to the Electoral Code of the Senegalese Football Federation. According to the CAS, the FSF Appeals Committee should have examined the merits of Mady Touré’s appeal.
However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport did not annul Abdoulaye Fall’s election. It considered that it did not have sufficient evidence to rule directly on a possible annulment of the election.
The case has therefore been referred back to the FSF Appeals Committee, which must conduct a thorough examination of Mady Touré’s appeal and issue a new decision. Consequently, Abdoulaye Fall retains his position as president of the Senegalese Football Federation for the time being.
