A well-known insider has revealed the reasons behind Barcelona's farewell to Gundogan

As a thunderclap, information has emerged that Barcelona have decided to say goodbye to midfielder İlkay Gündoğan. But this decision was taken in the offices of the Catalan club for a reason.
The backstage of Barcelona's farewell to Gundogan was revealed by Fabrizio Romano, and the latter assures that the reason is quite trivial, as for the Catalan club:
‘For Barça, it's a financial issue - they need money and taking off Gündogan's wages can help in that sense. Manchester City have been made aware of the possibility of re-signing Gündogan in recent days and they like the idea, especially Pep Guardiola, who has already said yes.’
Now it's up to Gündogan, as he has also received offers from clubs in Qatar and Saudi Arabia,’ read Romano's column for Caught Offside.
Earlier it was reported that the English club had agreed the signing of the 33-year-old midfielder and he will move to Manchester City as a free agent.
