Major changes are brewing in the heart of London's midfield.

Details: According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea's management has set a firm deadline for potential suitors of Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernández, giving them until Friday evening to make their move. The London club has made it clear they're willing to part ways with the 25-year-old, but only if the full asking price of £120 million is met—with Manchester City emerging as the main contender for the star's signature.

Meanwhile, the Blues' hierarchy is already working behind the scenes to reinforce the midfield should the Argentine depart. Reports indicate that Chelsea have reignited talks regarding two key young midfielders: 22-year-old Alex Scott from Bournemouth and 22-year-old Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace.

Both players have been on Chelsea's radar for over a year and are highly rated by head coach Xabi Alonso. Bournemouth previously rejected a £64 million bid from Chelsea and are holding out for over £80 million for Scott, while Crystal Palace value Wharton at a similar price.

It's worth noting that Enzo Fernández has been with Chelsea since January 2023, having arrived from Benfica for a then-record £106.8 million. His contract runs until the summer of 2031. According to Transfermarkt, the 25-year-old midfielder's market value is currently estimated at €100 million.
