The coaching staff is concerned about Lamine's condition.
Details: Spain's head coach, Konrad De la Fuente, responded to a journalist's question regarding the participation of 18-year-old Lamine Yamal in the second group stage match of the World Cup against Saudi Arabia.
De la Fuente admitted that the situation with Yamal is complicated, but he expects the young winger to take the field in Sunday's clash with Saudi Arabia:
"We need to assess Lamine Yamal's situation before our next match against Saudi Arabia," said De la Fuente.
- So you believe he'll be able to play around 45 minutes? - the journalist asked.
"Of course, something like that," De la Fuente replied.
In the match against Cape Verde, Lamine Yamal came off the bench in the 71st minute, but he couldn't turn the tide, allowing Cape Verde to hold on for a 0-0 draw.
Reminder: Not the best numbers. Spain have won just three FIFA World Cup matches in 16 years
