A tough challenge. Borussia attempts to sign German wonderkid
Cologne has no intention of letting this player go for cheap.
Details: Borussia Dortmund has officially entered the race for Said El-Mala, submitting their first offer to FC Köln.
According to Patrick Berger, the Bees have put forward a bid of around €26 million as a guaranteed sum, plus €8 million in easily achievable bonuses, and another €8 million as additional payments dependent on certain conditions being met.
However, the Cologne management immediately rejected the offer. The German club continues to value one of its top prospects at around €50 million and expects more favorable terms.
El-Mala himself is reportedly open to a move to Dortmund, so negotiations between the clubs are likely to resume in the near future.
El-Mala’s transfer value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €45 million, and his contract with Cologne runs until 2030.
Reminder: Expensive talent! Borussia makes a major offer for one of the world's best young players
