On Tuesday, March 12th, the rescheduled German Cup match between Saarbrücken from the 3rd Bundesliga and Borussia Mönchengladbach took place.

Originally slated for the end of January, the match was postponed due to the unprepared condition of Saarbrücken's field caused by adverse weather. It finally took place in the spring.

Saarbrücken has embarked on an incredible journey to reach the quarterfinals of the German Cup. In the Round of 16, they defeated Bayern Munich 3-1, followed by a 2-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Round of 32, and now they have overcome Borussia Mönchengladbach.

After conceding early in the game, they swiftly equalized, leading both teams into halftime with a 1-1 draw. The winning goal for Saarbrücken came deep into stoppage time, in the 90+3rd minute.

Thus, en route to the semifinals, Saarbrücken has eliminated three representatives of the Bundesliga, despite competing in the 3rd Bundesliga themselves. In the semifinals, they will face Kaiserslautern. Incidentally, this marks the fifth German Cup semifinal in Saarbrücken's history.
