Legendary former Italy defender Fabio Cannavaro has officially resumed his managerial career.
Details. Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb has announced the appointment of the Italian coach. Cannavaro will join the first team at a meeting on January 3, when he will be officially presented.
The duration of the agreement between the legendary Italian and the club has not been disclosed.
Notably, Cannavaro becomes the first Italian manager in Dinamo Zagreb's history and the first non-Balkan head coach of the team since 1999.
Background. The 51-year-old Cannavaro boasts extensive coaching experience. He most recently managed Italian clubs Benevento and Udinese, as well as claiming the Chinese Super League title in 2019 with Guangzhou.
Cannavaro’s last role was with Udinese, where he successfully helped the club avoid relegation to Serie B last season. However, negotiations for continued collaboration ultimately fell through.
