A step closer to the dream! Leipzig star defender pushes for a move to Barcelona

French RB Leipzig centre-back Castello Lukeba is eager to continue his career at Barcelona and has already taken the first decisive steps towards making his dream a reality.

Details: According to Spanish outlet SPORT, the 23-year-old centre-back has reached an agreement with the prestigious Excellence Sport agency, which also represents Barcelona defender Jules Koundé. Moreover, around ten days ago, the player's new representative held constructive talks with Barcelona sporting director Deco in the Catalan capital, laying the foundations for a potential deal.

Despite financially attractive offers from Premier League clubs, Lukeba is giving absolute priority to a move to Spain. Barcelona's position is further strengthened by the player's contract situation: in June 2027, his €80 million release clause will drop to €65 million, although the Camp Nou outfit hopes to reduce that figure through direct negotiations with the German side.

It is worth noting that Castello Lukeba began his football journey in Lyon before establishing himself as one of the Bundesliga's fastest and most tenacious young centre-backs, while also earning regular call-ups to the France national team.
