AJEL Rufisque showed its solidarity during the opening match of the Matchday 16 of the championship.

The leader of the Senegalese Ligue 1, the Rufisque club, wants the release of Senegalese supporters imprisoned in Morocco. Sentenced to between three months and one year in prison by a judge at the Rabat Court of First Instance, the Senegalese club believes that these supporters, who were arrested during incidents at the African Cup of Nations final on 18 January 2026, do not belong in prison.

That is why AJEL has openly called for their release, believing that their place is in the stands and not in prison.

‘Free our supporters. Football should unite, not divide. Our supporters belong in the stands, not in prison,’ wrote the Senegalese club.
