A rising NFL star died in a tragic car accident at the age of 24
Minnesota Vikings player Khyree Jackson tragically died in a car accident at the age of 24.
The tragic event occurred just three months after the NFL Draft, where Minnesota selected Jackson with the 108th pick in the 2024 draft in April.
The football player tragically died in a three-car collision in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Jackson was involved in the crash alongside former high school teammates Anthony Litton Jr. and Isaiah Hazel, both them were 24.
His mother, Abboni Jackson, confirmed to TMZ on Saturday that she received a call about her son's death early Saturday morning.
“I am absolutely crushed by this news,” head coach Kevin O'Connell said.
Khyree brought a contagious energy to our facility and our team. His confidence and engaging personality immediately drew his teammates to him. In our short time together, it was evident Khyree was going to develop into a tremendous professional football player, but what was more impressive was his desire to become the best person he could be for his family and those around him.
I am at a loss for words. My heart goes out to Khyree's family, friends, teammates and coaches."
Minnesota took Jackson with the 108th overall pick in the fourth round after his college career with the Oregon Ducks and Alabama Crimson Tide. He was considered the Vikings' starting lineup for the upcoming season.
