A revolution at Stamford Bridge! Chelsea sporting director leaves his post
The London club is entering a new phase in the restructuring of its senior football management.
Details: Chelsea sporting director Laurence Stewart will leave the club by mutual consent. The news was reported by respected British journalist Matt Law.
Within the Blues’ camp, the departure is being viewed as a natural and logical step in the development of the club’s football structure at Stamford Bridge. Since the arrival of the new leadership, Stewart had overseen recruitment, transfer negotiations and cooperation between the teams within the club’s system.
It is expected that his responsibilities will be promptly redistributed among the existing management team, allowing the club to maintain continuity in its chosen transfer strategy.
It is worth noting that Laurence Stewart joined Chelsea’s leadership team at the beginning of 2023. Before that, he successfully held senior analytical and scouting positions at French side Monaco, Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg and the Football Association of England.
