There’s been plenty of talk about Aston Villa’s goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez potentially leaving the club this summer, and the Villans are now on the hunt for a replacement for the Argentine. But the changes between the sticks won’t stop there.
Details: In June, Robin Olsen departed the squad, leaving Aston Villa also searching for a reliable backup goalkeeper. According to Sky Sports, that search appears to be over, with Brest’s shot-stopper Marco Bizot set to fill the role.

The 34-year-old Dutchman is expected to join Aston Villa on undisclosed terms, though he remains under contract with the French club until June 2026, meaning the Villans will likely have to pay a transfer fee.
For the record: Bizot has been with Brest since the summer of 2021, making 148 appearances for the French side. He’s kept 40 clean sheets, while conceding 214 goals in other matches. Back in November 2020, he earned his sole cap for the Netherlands national team.
