England could face significant squad losses ahead of the start of their Nations League campaign.

Manchester United players are also a major concern. Marcus Rashford will undergo an additional medical examination because of a hip problem that the Red Devils' medical staff have been monitoring since the World Cup. However, the forward is also expected to leave the England camp and continue recovery.

Kobbie Mainoo is also among the likely absentees after picking up an injury, forcing Thomas Tuchel's coaching staff to urgently explore squad rotation options.

England will begin their League A campaign in the UEFA Nations League against Spain on Saturday, September 26. The teams last met in the Euro 2024 final, when Spain narrowly defeated Gareth Southgate's side 2-1.
