Chelsea continues its relentless pursuit of promising young talents from around the globe.

Details: According to reputable outlet The Athletic, the London club is on the verge of sealing a deal for 16-year-old Los Angeles Galaxy central midfielder Vicente Garcia.

Reports indicate that the parties have already agreed on the key terms of the transfer. Vicente Garcia will join Chelsea in the summer of 2028, once he turns 18. The transfer fee is set at around $3 million (approximately £2.25 million), excluding potential performance-related bonuses.

Vicente Garcia signed his first professional contract with LA Galaxy in January 2025 at the age of 14 years and 198 days, becoming the fifth-youngest player in MLS history to sign a senior deal. The midfielder holds dual citizenship—USA and Mexico—and has already been called up to youth national teams for both countries. In August 2026, Garcia made his first appearance in the matchday squad for LA Galaxy's first team in an MLS game against Dallas.

It's worth noting that this season, the 16-year-old midfielder has been playing for LA Galaxy's affiliate, Ventura County, in MLS Next Pro, where he has made 16 appearances, scored 3 goals, and provided 4 assists.
