A new face expected in Patrick Vieira’s upcoming squad for the international break
Pathé Mboup could be called up for the very first time to the Senegal national team during the Lions of Teranga’s next training camp.
According to reports from Dsports, the Brest striker is expected to feature in Patrick Vieira’s squad, due to be announced for the third and fourth matchdays of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The 23-year-old could therefore take part in the two-legged tie against Sudan, scheduled for 12 and 16 November.
Having scored two goals and provided one assist in Ligue 1 this season for Brest, Pathé Mboup has gradually attracted attention thanks to his performances in the French league. The striker has also made no secret of his ambition to one day wear the Senegal shirt.
In a recent interview, he clearly stated his aim of joining the Lions of Teranga squad.
“The national team is one of my goals. When I see Ligue 1 players being called up, it makes me even more determined to work hard to earn my place in the squad. It’s one of my goals: to join the national team this year,” he said.
If this first call-up is confirmed, Pathé Mboup will see his dream come true.
