Sunderland leveled the score in their Premier League opener against Ipswich thanks to a sensationally executed free-kick. In the 39th minute, Nilson Angulo curled the ball into the corner of the net with such precision that the home team's goalkeeper was left helpless.
Ipswich had taken the lead in the 24th minute through Emersonn, but the hosts' advantage didn't last long. Fifteen minutes later, the Black Cats earned a free-kick, and Angulo turned the set piece into a true work of art.
The Sunderland player delivered a masterful, curling strike: the ball bent beautifully around the wall and, glancing off the crossbar, rocketed into the net, leaving the keeper with no chance. Even after just the first round, this goal is certain to be among the early contenders for goal of the season.

Worth noting: last season, the 23-year-old Ecuadorian played for Anderlecht and only moved to England in early February. Since joining the Black Cats, Angulo has made nine appearances without registering a goal or assist—until now.
