A major blow for Mouhamed El Bachir Ngom, who has suffered a serious injury
The Senegalese defender at KAA Gent has torn his anterior cruciate ligament and will be sidelined for several months.
The 26-year-old was injured during his team’s match against Standard Liège, which counted towards matchday 7 of the Belgian Pro League. After picking up the injury during the match, Mouhamed El Bachir Ngom was forced to come off as early as the 27th minute.
Medical tests carried out after the match unfortunately confirmed the fears. The Senegalese defender has suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
This injury is a major blow for KAA Gent, but also for the player, who will now face a long spell on the sidelines. He is not expected to return to action for several months.
Mouhamed El Bachir Ngom will therefore begin a long recovery process before he can return to the pitch and rejoin his team-mates at KAA Gent.
