The Malian international has suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

The injury brings Mahamadou Doumbia’s season with his Saudi club to an end. Carried off on a stretcher during Al-Ittihad’s match against Al-Kholood Club in the semi-finals of the Saudi King’s Cup, the Malian underwent medical tests and the results confirmed the fears.

Al-Ittihad Club has officially announced that the midfielder has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury. The Saudi club has stated that Doumbia will require surgery in the coming days. It goes without saying that the Malian will be sidelined for several months.
