A major blow for Guinea’s Syli National
A player has withdrawn
Ilaix Moriba has suffered an injury on the eve of the national team’s training camp for the international break.
The Guinean midfielder will be unable to play in the international friendlies against Benin and Togo. He is injured and will not be able to answer Paul Duarte’s call-up for the March 2026 international break.
His club, Celta Vigo, announced on Saturday 21 March that he is suffering from patellar tendinopathy in his right knee. However, the Spanish La Liga club did not specify how long Ilaix Moriba will be out of action. It merely stated that the player’s condition will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
The Syli National manager will have to revise his plans for the FIFA window.
