The Georgian national football team, who sensationally defeated Portugal 2-0 yesterday to advance to the Euro 2024 playoffs, not only delighted fans across the country but also significantly enriched themselves.
According to L`Equipe, Georgian billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili awarded the team a bonus of $10 million.
Furthermore, if Georgia reaches the quarterfinals, Ivanishvili has promised to double this amount.
Notably, Georgian striker Georges Mikautadze is currently the top scorer of Euro 2024, with three goals to his name.
On Sunday, June 30, Georgia will face Spain in the Round of 16 of Euro 2024.
