A lesson to learn! Diego Simeone sends clear message to Julián Álvarez
Diego Simeone wants his star striker to do his talking on the football pitch.
Details: Atlético Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has spoken openly about the immediate future of Julián Álvarez following a turbulent summer dominated by transfer speculation and internal tension. Addressing the situation ahead of the upcoming clash against Athletic Club in Bilbao, the Argentine tactician urged his compatriot to embrace the fresh opportunity in front of him and learn from the recent drama surrounding his position at the Metropolitano.
"For me, life is full of opportunities, and Julián has just been given one right now," Simeone explained. "All too often, we spend our lives passing judgment when we should be judging less and learning more. I truly hope this has served as a valuable lesson for him."
The manager also referenced a supportive gesture from club icon Paulo Futre, expressing optimism that the 26-year-old forward will find his joy again in front of goal:
"I hope he is happy and, just as Futre told him yesterday in that wonderful video, that he demonstrates it by putting the ball in the back of the net."
Álvarez had previously missed training sessions and was omitted from the squad for the away fixture against Sevilla amid aggressive rumors linking him with a switch away from Madrid. However, with the transfer window closed, the World Cup winner has rejoined collective preparations and traveled with the team to the Basque country.
It is worth noting that according to Transfermarkt, the 26-year-old Argentine forward's current market value stands at €100 million.
Reminder: January bombshell brewing! Julián Álvarez could finally be offered to Barcelona
