Ajax Amsterdam has set its sights on signing Barcelona’s star German goalkeeper, Marc-André ter Stegen.
Details: According to Sky Sport Germany, the Dutch giants are currently working hard to bring the shot-stopper in on a loan deal.
Reports suggest that no agreement has been reached between the parties so far. The task for the Amsterdam side is a tough one, considering that the 34-year-old German’s current contract with the Catalan club runs until the summer of 2028.
Nevertheless, Ajax holds two significant trump cards in these negotiations. Firstly, ter Stegen has developed an excellent personal relationship with Ajax head coach Michel. Secondly, Ajax and Barcelona have traditionally enjoyed a very strong, friendly relationship, which could substantially smooth the negotiation process.
It’s worth noting that Transfermarkt values the player at €3 million.
Reminder: Former Barcelona player Luis Suárez compared Lionel Messi and Lamine Yamal.
