Roberto Mancini has taken another step toward a potential return to the Italy national team. According to insider Nicolo Schira, the Italian tactician has officially parted ways with Qatari club Al Sadd, terminating his contract with the team.
The split was anticipated several weeks ago, and now the information has been officially confirmed. After leaving the Qatari side, Mancini will focus on the next chapter of his managerial career.
Sources report that the 61-year-old coach is the leading candidate to take charge of the Italian national team. Negotiations are said to be nearing completion, with a contract expected to run until the summer of 2030. Under the proposed terms, Mancini would earn around two million euros per year.
It's worth recalling that under Mancini's guidance, the Italian national team achieved one of its most significant triumphs in modern history, winning the European Championship in 2021.
