The transfer could happen as early as this winter.

Details: According to The Sun, Napoli’s 28-year-old central midfielder Scott McTominay has advised the club’s management and head coach Antonio Conte to seriously consider signing Manchester United’s 20-year-old central midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.

It is reported that the club’s management initiated the conversation, as they are looking to strengthen their midfield this winter. McTominay spoke very highly of Mainoo, sparking genuine interest from the Napoli hierarchy.

The chances of the transfer are considered quite high, as the young midfielder is not getting enough playing time under Ruben Amorim this season.

Mainoo, a product of the “Red Devils” academy, could make this move the first major transfer of his career.

This season, Kobbie Mainoo has made just eight appearances for the “Mancunians,” providing one assist.

His current contract runs until 2027, and his market value is estimated at €45 million by Transfermarkt.

Reminder: The streak continues. Manchester United remain unbeaten in five straight matches
