The former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Argentina national team player, Ezequiel Lavezzi, has been admitted to the hospital with a potential incisive injury, as reported by Clarin.

According to sources, the 38-year-old global vice-champion arrived at the medical center with a knife wound to the abdomen and a fractured collarbone. In early December, the Argentine participated in an exhibition match with Conmebol Legends before heading to a resort in Uruguay to spend the summer with his family, including his girlfriend, Brazilian model Natalia Borges.

Lavezzi's family stated that the former footballer sustained the injury as a result of a domestic incident. According to them, he fell from a height while ascending stairs to change a light bulb, striking an object of furniture and sustaining a serious injury to the shoulder blade.

Furthermore, they deny any knife-related injuries and emphasize that his abdomen could have been damaged during the fall.

Lavezzi began his career at Estudiantes and, after one season, was signed by Genoa, who loaned him to San Lorenzo, where he eventually moved permanently. In 2007, he was signed by Napoli, winning the Italian Cup in 2012.

Due to his performances for Napoli, he joined Paris Saint-Germain for €26.5 million in 2012, where he played over 150 matches for the club and won three Ligue 1 championships, two League Cups, and one French Cup. He concluded his career in China, playing for Hebei China Fortune from 2016 to 2019.

Lavezzi represented the Argentina national team from 2007 to 2016, being part of the squad that won the Olympic gold medal in 2008. He also contributed to reaching the final stages of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the 2015 Copa América, and the Centennial Copa América.
