In a letter to fans, Müller wrote: "After many rumors about me, I want to take this opportunity to clarify the situation. Despite the number of minutes on the field, I still greatly enjoy playing with the guys and fighting for titles. I could very well continue this role next season."

He added: "Nevertheless, the club has decided not to negotiate a new contract for the next season. Although this doesn't align with my personal wishes, it's important for the club to follow its convictions. I respect this step, which I'm sure wasn't taken without difficulty for the club's management."

Thomas Müller is the record holder for the most matches played for Bayern Munich in the club's history. Over his career at the club, he has played 743 matches, scored 247 goals, and provided 273 assists. These numbers highlight his outstanding role in the history of the Munich club.
