Vitor Pereira has been appointed as the new head coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Pereira is now the fourth Portuguese manager in the Premier League this season, marking a record for the competition in the one season. The other Portuguese managers currently in the league are:
- Rúben Amorim (Manchester United)
- Nuno Espírito Santo (Nottingham Forest)
- Marco Silva (Fulham)
In total, there are nine Iberian managers (five Spanish and four Portuguese) in the league, making up 45% of its coaching contingent.
Reminder. Pereira's most recent club was Saudi side Al-Shabab, with Wolves reportedly paying €1 million in compensation to secure his services.
The new Wolves boss has an extensive managerial résumé, having previously led Porto, 1860 Munich, Shanghai Port, Fenerbahçe, Olympiacos, Corinthians, and Flamengo.
