Barcelona is urging ter Stegen to make a choice about his future.

Details: According to Marca, the coaching staff of Barcelona has informed their 33-year-old German goalkeeper, Marc-André ter Stegen, that he has just two options for the next stage of his career.

The first option is to stay at Barcelona, but only as a backup goalkeeper, with little to no expectation of getting on the pitch. The second scenario would see ter Stegen leave on loan, giving him the playing time he needs to have a shot at making Germany's squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Barcelona is not considering a permanent transfer at this stage.

Ter Stegen joined Barcelona from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2014 for €12 million.

He has played 422 matches for Barça, conceding 416 goals and keeping 175 clean sheets.

Ter Stegen's current contract with Barcelona runs until 2028, and Transfermarkt estimates his market value at €8 million.
