A cry from the heart. Kolkata captain calls current season the worst in history
Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer delivered an intensely emotional and hard-hitting statement following their crushing defeat to Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Details: The team, which kicked off the IPL season flawlessly, is now in a catastrophic tailspin that has jeopardized their spot in the playoffs from the top positions of the table.
The cricket star didn't mince words, calling the current situation a disgrace.
"I am deeply disappointed with our team’s overall performance. We didn’t lose a single match in the first seven rounds, but after that we somehow managed to lose six in a row. It’s simply shameful. Now, our qualification for the top four is no longer in our hands—we’re completely dependent on the results of other teams. Of course, we’re still hoping for the best, but right now it feels awful. I can honestly say: this is the worst season of my life," Iyer admitted candidly.
Such a dramatic collapse in form from KKR has shocked the franchise’s supporters. After a phenomenal start, the team has squandered all its advantage and is now desperately counting other teams’ points in the standings.
