The situation surrounding Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin's new contract is still far from being resolved. Relevo reports that the Ukrainian goalkeeper would like to have a more significant role in the team if he agrees to extend his contract until 2029.

However, the club's management is not willing to back down from the terms that were agreed upon in the spring. Real Madrid believes that if Lunin wants to stay, it must be on the conditions offered to him.

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti sees Thibaut Courtois as the first-choice goalkeeper, and he plans to give Lunin playing time only in the Copa del Rey and when the Belgian needs a replacement. This position is not up for debate within the club.

Additionally, the club believes that Lunin's delay in making a decision is influenced by his entourage. Agent Jorge Mendes is exploring other options for the player. If the team is left without a second goalkeeper, Madrid may once again consider bringing in Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea.
