Turkish Eyüpspor is a rather modest club even by local standards. The team from Istanbul's Eyüp district will only make its debut in the local Super League next season, despite its 105-year history. But, modest regalia does not stop club boss Murat Ozkaya from wanting big names in his team.

Spanish portal Mundo Deportivo quotes the Eyüpspor president as saying that he wants to invite Ballon d'Or winner Luka Modrić to join him:

"I don't look at his passport and it doesn't matter to me how old he is. I want to have him at Eupspor."

The club, whose team is led by the notorious ex-Atletico and Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan, plan to make an offer for the Croatian at the end of the season. Modric is expected to announce his desire to leave Real Madrid at that time.

With six rounds to go, Eyüpspor are leading the Turkish first league with an 18-point lead over third-placed Koçaliespor, and thus will play in the Super League for the first time in history next season.
