A chance for Bayındır. Manchester United's main goalkeeper goes to the Africa Cup of Nations
Manchester United's primary goalkeeper, Andre Onana, has decided to participate in the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations. The 27-year-old player has been included in the squad for the Cameroon national team for the tournament.
Earlier reports suggested that Onana was hesitant about attending the competition due to concerns about losing his place in the starting lineup.
In Onana's absence, the goalkeeping duties for Manchester United will be handled by Turkey's national team goalkeeper, Altay Bayındır, who joined the club from Fenerbahçe for €5 million last summer. The 25-year-old goalkeeper has yet to make his debut for the Red Devils.
The 2024 Africa Cup of Nations will take place in Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11. The Cameroon national team will be in a group with Senegal, Guinea, and Gambia.
