A breakthrough for African football! La Liga strikes a historic alliance with Chad
Spain’s top flight is expanding its international presence by launching a major project to develop football talent in Central Africa.
Details: Spanish La Liga and the Republic of Chad have officially entered into a wide-ranging strategic partnership aimed at developing football across the African nation. The signing ceremony took place in Madrid, attended by Spanish league president Javier Tebas and Chad’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Naïr Abakar.
The long-term partnership’s key priorities will include a comprehensive overhaul of youth academies, the professionalisation of Chad’s national league, as well as systematic training for local coaches and administrators. Spanish experts will share advanced analytical expertise and methodologies to help build a sustainable football ecosystem.
Under the agreement, young players from Chad will have the opportunity to take part in joint training camps and be scouted by Spanish clubs, opening the door to the European stage for the country’s promising athletes.
It is worth noting that La Liga has been actively developing sporting and educational initiatives in Africa for several years, opening football academies and branches to identify talented players across the continent.
